Ads in our Lives

Have you ever noticed truly how many ads we see online?  Not just when we search something on google, and the first thing that pops up is an ad of some kind, but also on actual web pages.  Some are even before we try to load the page.  and then they make you click on it to skip past, but it only sends you to a website about that product. Ads are showing up everywhere in our lives, and not only on media.  However, i will be mainly focusing on those we see in media. Ads are something that is used to sell a product, through a short description about how good the product is.  this could be something like a tv commercial, a short ad on the radio, or a pop up on CNN. however, ads are beginning to show up more and more.  and not only this, but certain ads depict products that we have looked for in the past, on something such as Amazon.  most people don't buy a product from an ad as soon as they see it, but it still eventually influences them to buy it. ...

Two Stories

No two articles are the same.  Even if the topic is similar, the writing can be very different.  One article could agree with the topic, and the other could disagree.  Or both could hold the same views, but express it in a completely different style, and go about convincing others using different words and tones. In this case, two articles about the new health care plan made by Donald Trump take this approach.  The first article, "Donald Trump releases health care reform plan," immediately shows how the writer dislikes the plan, due to installing doubt by saying the plan "aims" to improve healthcare by making it more affordable and better.  The word "aims" causes someone to think that they are trying to but won't actually succeed. The second article, "House Republicans Unveil Plan to Replace Health Law," begins by showing a more neutral tone towards the topic.  However, it does show how the plan will be more controversial.  It does this thro...
Social Media Social media has such a big impact on our lives.  We see it everyday, and use it as one of our main forms of communication.  It helps to connect us to people around the world by allowing us to talk, text, and see photos of them.  In my life, I mainly use social media to communicate with friends, using the internet for school, and online games.  I have mixed feelings when it comes to social media, especially regarding its effect on society as a whole. When it comes to just me, I think that social media is mostly good.  I am able to use it for not only connecting with other people, but also for help with school.  Media is a great way of being able to connect with people that I don't see on a day-to-day basis.   It helps to talk with people and see what they are doing, if you don't see them everyday at school.  It also helps to communicate with family that might not live in the same city as you do.  Not only this, but you can als...
