in my post earlier, I outlined what I believe was too much social media, so here I will discuss how that is harmful. To begin with, too much social media is when we rely on it to the point that we can't do a task without it.
The dangers in this are quite simple. By using media too much, we won't be able to do anything ourselves. If we couldn't use the internet of social networks, our society would essentially collapse. We wouldn't be able to do anything as no one would know how to do it without using the internet. Everyone relies on media to the point where no one knows how a task can be done without its use. We as a society need to make sure that this never occurs, as a heavy reliance on the internet will cause for us to forget how to accomplish the task in the first place and lead to our collapse.
Another danger is the distraction that media causes. Too much social media leads to us being distracted all the time, and once againg causes for us to not accomplish even the simplest of tasks. The final and more hidden danger presented is how no one will know how to communicate. Since people will be using media so much, it can easily lead to the collapse of communicating with each other in the real world. We wouldn't be able to talk in a normal way as we will just be used to saying "lol" or "idk" in a text. We won't truly know how to communicate leading to not being able to communicate outer actions with other people in the world. Essentially, no one will know how to talk to each other and will simply end up passing through the world in silence.

I agree with you when you say that we have become too reliant upon media, but I think that the concerns you have listed are a little far fetched. You made the argument that society depends upon media, I agree with that. Then you said that we have become so dependent upon media that we would not know how to do anything else without media, and it was because of that, that society would collapse. I would say that is a slippery slope fallacy. I find it hard to believe that we would not know how to do anything without media, and that society would collapse without it. Now I do believe that there are real concerns with the amount of media in our lives, but what you have stated I do not believe those are the problems. The loss of certain skills could be a problem. The loss of proper English and grammar when speaking and writing could be a possibility. The loss of certain manners when interacting with others is another possibility. I think you have the right idea, but you are going down a wrong path.
